26-year-old Lithuanian mezzo-soprano Aistė Benkauskaitė is renowned for her exceptionally versatile and resilient voice, a warm, velvety timbre and an impressively broad repertoire, spanning from Baroque to contemporary music. She has performed at prestigious venues such as the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, Astana Opera, Përnu Endla Theatre and the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Benkauskaitė’s talent has been recognised in numerous competitions, including first place at the Lithuanian Vincės Jonuškaitės-Zaunienės Competition. She graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and has sung as a soloist with the State Ensemble »Lietuva.« Aistė is currently in her second year at Mascarade Opera‘s Emerging Artists Programme.
This season sees Aiste performing some exciting roles at Mascarade Opera partner houses: Flora in La Traviata and Bobylicka in Snegourotschka, both at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, as well as parts from Don Giovanni in the experimental project »Ciao, amore« at Wiesbaden’s small house in the context of the 2026 Maifestpiel. She debuts as Musico in Manon Lescaut at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg as well as Blume I 3 in Parsifal at Nationaltheater Mannheim.
