DIRECT ACTION AS AN IDEA AND A CHALLENGE /
DIREKTES HANDELNS ALS IDEE UND HERAUSFORDERUNG

In einer zunehmend individualisierten Gesellschaft, in der die Beziehungen zu anderen und der Realität zunehmend durch Technologie und Stereotypen vermittelt werden, wird direktes und persönliches Handeln zu einer Herausforderung. Der Kontakt mit einer*m Fremden, die körperliche Anstrengung, im »Hier und Jetzt sein«, scheint für junge Menschen besonders schwierig zu sein, was als Symptom eines bevorstehenden sozialen Wandels gedeutet werden kann. So gesehen offenbart sich eine neue Dimension des Politischen in partizipativen Kunstprojekten, die sehr oft auf direktem Handeln beruhen.
Im Impuls wird der Masterstudiengang für soziale Künste an der Universität Warschau vorgestellt, der Studierende auf die Arbeit an partizipativen Projekten (Im Umfeld ähnlicher Projekte in Poeln) vorbereitet. Das Studium ist interdisziplinär angelegt, in mehrerlei Hinsicht: Es verbindet Theorie und Praxis, kreative mit sozialen Kompetenzen und verschiedene künstlerische Medien miteinander. Das Eintauchen in die Realität ist Prämisse, sodass die Studierenden das erworbene Wissen sofort in Projekten anwenden, die während des Studiums, aber außerhalb der Universität umgesetzt werden. In den sozialen Künsten gilt direktes Handeln als grundlegend – sowohl als Praxis an sich als auch als vorbereitende Übung für die Realität und ihre Diversität.
In an increasingly atomized society, where relationships with others and reality are increasingly mediated by technology and stereotypes, direct action becomes a challenge. Contact with a stranger, physical exertion, ‘being here and now’ seem particularly difficult for young people, which can be interpreted as symptoms of upcoming social changes. In this way, a new dimension of the political nature of participatory art projects is revealed, which are very often based on direct action.
The presentation presents the assumptions of the master’s degree in social arts at the University of Warsaw, which prepare for the implementation of participatory projects, in the context of other projects of this type in Poland. The studies are interdisciplinary in nature, understood at several levels: they combine theory with practice, creative competences with social competences, and various artistic media. Their premise is an immersion in reality, so that students can try to use the acquired knowledge right away, during projects taking place during their studies, but outside the walls of the university. In the social arts studies, direct action is the basic form of activity, being at the same time a practice in itself, as well as a preparation for acting in reality and working with its diversity.

Sie leitet den angewandten Masterstudiengang für soziale Künste und das Postgraduiertenstudium für Theaterpädagogik am Institut für Polnische Kultur der Universität Warschau. Sie ist Koordinatorin und Kuratorin sozialer und künstlerischer Projekte, Expertin für die Zusammenarbeit von polnischen und internationalen Kultureinrichtungen, Vorsitzende des Sozialrats für Kultur beim Bürgermeister der Hauptstadt Warschau, Mitglied des Programmrats von Komuna Warszawa, Mitglied im Team zur Koordinierung der Arbeit an der Gestaltung der Warschauer Kulturpolitik bis 2030 sowie im Wissenschaftsrat von Teatro e Storia.

She directs the practical master’s degree in Social Arts and postgraduate studies in Theatre Pedagogy at the Institute of Polish Culture at the University of Warsaw. Coordinator and curator of social and artistic projects, expert cooperating with Polish and international cultural institutions, chairwoman of the Social Council for Culture at the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, member of the Programme Council of Komuna Warszawa, Team coordinating work on the creation of Warsaw’s cultural policy until 2030, Scientific Council of Teatro e Storia.
